The evening will examine the city's habit of erasure, as well as forms of collective recall, through disaster footage, visualizations of local wind patterns, L.A. Housing Authority archival films, documentation of lost neighborhoods and landmarks, contemporary marketing schemes for "historic downtown," and a dance and live sound performance that explores community transformation and its impact on the body. Plus much more and of course, puppets!

Burger Records co-presents a night of cosmic-garage-folk with an amazing lineup of frontmen showing us their more sensitive side: Gabriel Hart (Jail Weddings), Shana Cleveland (La Luz) and Scott Yoder (The Pharmacy) who'll be joining us from Seattle in support of his new album. This event will include a puppet show, and proceeds go towards funding future fieldtrips to the theater.

In this retro variety show, Captured Aural Phantasy Theater blows a kiss to its hometown, Los Angeles, by blending hard-boiled culture and the absurd in an evening of performances inspired by noir movies, pulp fiction and the fierce crime comic books of the 40’s.
