Fantasy Express: A Hayao Miyazaki-Inspired Candle-Making Class

Step aboard for an evening of wonder, wandering spirits, and cinematic daydreams.

In celebration of fantasy storytelling through the worlds of Hayao Miyazaki and alongside Bob Baker Marionette Theater’s brand-new Choo Choo Revue, join Mise en Scènt and Super Yaki for a candle-making experience inspired by enchanted train rides, hidden worlds, soot sprites, floating castles, and the magic of getting wonderfully lost.

Led by Mise en Scènt founder Greer Temnick, this 90-minute workshop invites guests to create their own custom candle from a scent menu inspired by whimsical landscapes, cozy bathhouses, overgrown gardens, mysterious spirits, and journeys by rail into the unknown.

Expect an evening filled with fantasy, nostalgia, and cinematic escapism inside the Puppet Parlors at Bob Baker Marionette Theater, including a special mini puppet performance while your candle sets.
