Following five months of preview season programming and hundreds of hours of painting, moving, and renovating...
the People and Puppets of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater invite YOU to celebrate our new Highland Park home with a day of fun, FREE and OPEN to all!

A ribbon cutting and opening ceremony at 10 am will kick off the festivities, followed by 20 minute puppet shows on the hour beginning at 11am.

In between shows celebrate in full Bob Baker birthday style with ice cream treats, first peeks at the Theater's new Party Room, the debut of our analog photo booth, walk-around puppets, and so much more!

The festivities continue next door at our neighbors, MorYork, where two exhibits of archival photographs of the old Theater and puppet portraits will be displayed, along with a VR, projection-mapped experience of 1345 1st Street.

As a 501c3 nonprofit, BBMT is YOUR Theater. We hope you join us for this historic occasion!

BBMT SEASON KICKOFF

After a day of celebrating the Grand Opening of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, join us for our first formal show in our York Boulevard location. Come and watch behind-the-scenes videos of the buildout, enjoy a classic Bob Baker puppet show, and cheer as the famous Harlequin Clowns rise for the VERY FIRST TIME in our new location! The festivities continue with a puppet after-party, complete with birthday cake, DJs, and surprise treats. It's an evening that will only happen once, and it is not to be missed. Tickets are sold at the commemorative price of $56: one dollar for each year the Bob Baker Marionette Theater has been delighting Angelenos of all ages.
